With the large-scale expansion of PoE-powered smart IoT networks worldwide, more and more high-power-consuming devices have emerged. PoE technical standards like IEEE 802.3af/at are only applicable to low-power devices that provide up to 30W of power via Ethernet, which limits the available power of smart network devices. The latest PoE standard IEEE 802.3bt has greatly expanded the application of PoE technology in new areas. PoE can provide up to 90W of power for power supply equipment (PSE) and 71.3W of power for terminal equipment (PD).

In the market, there mainly have three types PoE standard protocols:

IEEE802.3af PoE (Output Power :13W)
IEEE802.3at PoE+ (Output Power: 30W)
IEEE802.3bt PoE++ (Output Power: 40~71W)

802.3bt (PoE++) is backward compatible with 802.3at and 802.3af. A lower power 802.3at or 802.3af PD can be connected to a higher power 802.3bt PSE without any problems. When a higher power 802.3bt PD is connected to a lower power 802.3at or 802.3af PSE, the PD only needs to be able to work in their respective lower power states, which is called “degradation.”

All the PoE PTZ Cameras from LOYALTY-SECU, are adopted with IEEE802.3at PoE+ and IEEE802.3bt PoE++ standard protocols and equipped with the high work performance 65W PoE Injector for better data transmission.
