Overview
What is a PTZ Camera?
A PTZ camera is a camera which with the pan, tilt, and zoom multi-functions. These horizontal & vertical movements can be manually controlled by using monitoring software such as NVR,CMS, etc or via a joystick, or automatically set up by using camera management software(CMS). With the horizontal 360 degree and vertical 180 degree Pan & Tilt possibilities, allow the security staff to respond quickly to events they spot with the surveillance system.
By using the CMS to set up guard tours, where the camera will automatically move to monitor pre-set locations on a schedule. Some cameras can also with the humanoid detection, face recognition, alert auto tracking, intrusion detection, active defense, following a person or car moving in its field of view, and trigger the alarm.
PTZ cameras normally encased in a hard-shell housing which both protects it and obscures the camera’s direction from curious onlookers. PTZ cameras differ though in that they have more capabilities and are capable of remote direction and zoom control.
